Tsubasa vs Shana (Symphogear vs Shakugan no Shana) | Flygalia's VS Blogs

“I said my sword was a tool of justice. Not used in anger. Not used for vengeance. But now? Now I’m not so sure… and besides… This ISN’T my Sword” – Raiden

Tsubasa Kazanari, Symphogear’s Attuned to Ame-no-Habakiri

Shana, the Flaming-Haired, Blazing-Eyed Hunter of Shakugan no Shana

The sword, one of the most common weapons in fiction. Used to defend the world against evil, and these two dedicated themselves to defending the world from dangerous monsters from another world so much they were a bit detached from it, though the bonds that they gained learned to make them grow past it and learn the true value of Heroism. Now at the end of this year, let’s pit these two blazing blades up and see who would win… a Death Battle.

Backgrounds

Tsubasa Kazanari

Sword of the Surviving Guardian

Ever since she was young, Tsubasa Kazanari was trained by one thing and one thing only: To be a sword defending her nation from the Noise, beings from a dimension beyond our own who are capable of turning anyone to dust. To that end, she became attuned to the relic known as Ame-no-Habakiri. She was later on joined by a vengeful girl by the name of Kanade Amou, the one attuned to the relic Gungnir, and they became an idol duo known as Zwei Wing. Then one fateful day, during a concert, the Noise attacked, and Kanade made the choice to sacrifice herself to take them all out. From that day forward, Tsubasa would once again be alone and fully immersed herself in being a sword.

Three years later, Tsubasa was making it out fine as a soloist, both as an idol and as a guardian, when she suddenly found herself joining up with a fellow student known as Hibiki Tachibana, a survivor of said Noise attack, who suddenly gained the ability to transform with Gungnir. At first, Tsubasa was dismissive of her, but after recovering from nearly sacrificing herself, she eventually found herself becoming friends with her, eventually the two teaming up with the one attuned to the relic Ichival to stop the villain Fine from carrying out her plans.

A few months later, Tsubasa and friends were doing fine, defending the world from the Noise, preforming concerts, all that. When she preformed a concert with a foreign superstar known as Maria Cadenzavna Eve, things took a bit of a turn, when right afterwards Maria revealed herself to be part of a terrorist group also known as Fine, and summoned a bunch of Noise. Which started her and her friends next adventure, to stop whatever plans Fine had, further complicated by two revelations: That the damage Fine caused to the moon is causing it to slowly descend to the Earth, the reason why Fine is acting the way they are is to prevent it, and the reason why Hibiki can transform is also killing her, the latter of which forces Tsubasa to go back to her old self in an effort to try to stop Hibiki from fighting. Things worked out in the end, though, with the Moon regaining its orbit, Hibiki losing the Gungnir shards in her while also gaining Maria’s Gungnir, and most importantly, the Noise no longer gaining the ability to go to our world, and the Symphogear users that worked for Fine having turned to the side of good, albeit having to serve prison sentences for a while.

Though in spite of that, the fight was far from over, as the threat known as the Alchemic Cult revealed themselves and revealed a new type of Noise known as the Alca-Noise. In spite of this new threat, Tsubasa fought alongside her allies as part of the organization known as SONG, to end the threat they posed, later on fighting the forces of the Bavarian Illuminati, and ultimately, learning why exactly she defends the people, in order to take on one of the creators of Humanity, paving the way for peace.

Shana

Annoy her, and you get the Triple Shut Up.

Of all the Flame Hazes, warriors who fight to defend the balance of the universe against the Crimson Denizens, one stands out amongst the rest, the Flame Haze contracted to the Crimson Lord Alastor, the Flaming-Haired, Blazing-Eyed Hunter. Of note, there were two Flame Hazes that bore the title. Matilde Saint-Omer, who sacrificed herself to bring an end to the Second Great War, and her modern-day successor, was an orphan taken in by the Flame Haze Wilhelmina Carmel and the Crimson Lord Merihim, who had taken on the form of the Skeleton known as Shiro. Eventually, she parted with the two and set off on her journeys, until one fateful day where she came to Misaki City, in order to take on the Crimson Lord Friagne, saving a Torch by the name of Yuji Sakai in the process. Learning about the nature of the universe, and that the Flame Haze’s dedication to her mission being dedicated enough she doesn’t even have a name, Yuji decided to name her after the blade she wielded, the Nietono no Shana, with her name simply being that last word.

The next day at school, Yuji finds that Shana had managed to insert herself into his Life, quite literally, as she had taken the existence of the fading Torch known as Yukari Hirai into her own, “becoming” her in the process. Though eventually Friagne attacked, and to fix the damage down without endangering the existence of others, Yuji offered to use his own remaining existence to fix it all, which as the clock struck midnight, clued Shana and Alastor into what Yuji had inside of him: The Midnight Lost Child, a Treasure Tool that contained the ability to generate endless Power of Existence. Shortly after defeating Friagne, Shana found herself coming face to face against another Flame Haze, though it would end with her winning and uncovering new wings that gave her the ability to Fly.

Throughout the next few months, Shana found herself having to defend Yuji from various threats that were after him due to him containing the Midnight Lost Child, eventually finding herself appreciating human life more and more, though it didn’t distract from her duties a single bit. Most importantly, she found that she was actually falling for Yuji, which also led her to get in a love triangle with another girl, Kazumi Yoshida, over him. She also was able to fit into Yuji’s friend circle quite nicely… which helped a bit since three of them were also into the know about the Crimson World (Including the aforementioned Kazumi, and two boys that work with said Flame Haze she fought against) .

Eventually, Shana and Yuji’s feelings would put them in a crossroads when Yuji formed a contract with the Snake of the Festival, Alastor’s opposite, and begun to lead the Crimson Denizen organization Bal Masque in an effort to end the war once and for all, eventually the two sides coming to an agreement on how the new world would work, and the two would admit their feelings for eachother, flying into the new world together.

Experience

Tsubasa

At least 5 years of experience before the start of the series, with the events of the Symphogear series taking place over 2 years (Hibiki says she is 15 years old during the events of Season 1, and by the events of XV, is 17 years old). Possibly more, depending on what age Tsubasa started fighting.

Shana

At least few years before the start of the series, with the events of Shakugan no Shana taking place over roughly a year (Season 1 starts in April, going off how Japanese Schools starts in April, with Season 3 beginning a month following the season 2 finale, which happened on Christmas Eve). Notably, Shana, despite being one of the strongest Flame Hazes, has the least amount of experience compared to every other one in the series.

Arsenal

Tsubasa

Ame-no-Habakiri

It’s hard to figure out which one’s the sword.

The Symphogear that Tsubasa is attuned to, and the main source of Tsubasa’s powers. Giving Tsubasa protection against the Noise and powered by her own singing (Generating an energy source known as Phonic Gain), Tsubasa also gains the ability to summon forth an Armed Gear (Basically the actual weapons that the Symphogears wield), which is a Nodachi that’s capable of setting itself on fire and can summon forth giant blades as well, all to take out the (Alca-)Noise. While not fighting, it, like all Symphogears, appears as a pink pendant that Tsubasa wears.

Motorcycle

https://kamenrider.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Rider_Machines

Tsubasa’s personal transport vehicle, which is also equipped with two blades that allow her to ram any opposing Noise with, which destroys them.

Shana

Alastor

He’d have one hell of a beef with the Hazbinverse’s Alastor

The main source of Shana’s powers, Alastor is the Crimson Lord that Shana is contracted to, who appears as a pendant that Shana wears. Unlike all other Crimson Lords that are contracted to Flame Hazes, Alastor is in truth one of the gods of the Crimson World, representing destruction as the God of Atonement. He is also the only Crimson God that is capable of slaying other gods.

Rather uniquely, Shana’s own existence is much bigger than Alastor’s own (as a result of how Flame Hazes are born), which can allow her to withstand Alastor manifesting himself into the world without dying.

Nietono no Shana

The Binding Blade

Shana’s sword, a Nodachi Treasure Tool that was given to her by the Mystes Tenmou Ikko, following her defeating him. This has the ability to ignore any Unrestricted Spell that can be thrown at Shana, even spells that can be seen as unbreakable, as Tenmou Ikko had shown when rampaging through the Palace of the Stars. And as mentioned before, it’s also where Shana got her name.

Night Cape

Perfect for practicing Meta Knight Down Specials.

Shana’s coat, which is actually an Unrestricted Spell and a fragment of one of Alastor’s wings. It allows Shana to store any item inside of it, with the Nietono no Shana being stored inside of it when she’s not fighting.

Chorde

Something something Beware their power.

Chorde is a set of ring Treasure Tools that Shana obtained from defeating the Crimson Denizen Kasha. When fired, their trajectory can be controlled by the user’s will, and can be loaded with an Unrestricted Spell, which can give the rings the effects of the Unrestricted Spell.

Tenmou Ikko

The Doomslayer of Shakugan no Shana.

The guy who made the Nietono no Shana, who is one of the few humans in existence who became a Mystes of his own will, all to fight Crimson Denizens and find someone strong enough to wield the blade (which he did find in Shana). While he’s not really a part of Shana’s main arsenal per se, he’s capable of rematerializing if Shana is away from the Nietono no Shana and needs to find a way to get it back to her.

Abilities

Tsubasa

Blue Flash

She got this from beating Harpuia with an S-Rank

Blue Flash is one of Tsubasa’s attacks, whereas she enlarges her sword, and then fires off a powerful beam of energy to cut down her enemies, no matter the size. While in her X-Drive form, she can perform a stronger variant of this attack called Blue Flash Destruction.

One Thousand Tears

It’s not infinite per say, but it’s a sword works nonetheless.

One Thousand Tears is an attack where Tsubasa summons a storm of swords down at her opponent, which appear as energy swords before materializing as copies of her armed gear.

Wight Slayer/Reverse Rakasha

“I’ll try spinning, that’s a good trick!”

Wight Slayer is an attack where Tsubasa activates blades located on her legs, then spins at her enemies, which can hit them with both blades.

Shadow Weave

She got this from her Ninja Manager.

No seriously, her manager is a Ninja. This is canon.

Shadow Weave is an attack that requires Tsubasa to throw a knight at her opponent, which lands a bit behind then, which also freezes her foe for a little bit, leaving them vulnerable to more attacks.

Heaven’s Wrath

When Magolor put up his Magic Barrier, Tsubasa knew what to do

Heaven’s Wrath is an attack where Tsubasa makes a humongous sword, which can be both an attack and a defending move.

Fearless Three Blades

"Another 5 years of Three Blades discourse for some reason"

An attack where Tsubasa uses the blades on her legs in conjunction with her armed gear, which has her activate thrusters on her leg-blades while spinning in a circle, cutting through the enemy.

Fiery Windblades

The Blazing Blades

An attack where Tsubasa combines two swords into one dual-edge sword, then ignites them, spinning while striking at the opponent.

Moonlit Fiery Windblades

In Pokemon (Ultra) Moon, this is Fiery Windblades nearly all the time.

A stronger variant of Fiery Windblades that has Tsubasa’s flames on her armed gear turn blue, that works best at night

Blade of the Rider’s Bane

The Gouram attaching itself to the TryChaser/Beatchaser (2000, colorized)

An attack that requires Tsubasa to use her motorcycle, Blade of the Rider’s Bane has her activate the blades embedded in her bike, with the blades going in front of the bike, with Tsubasa ramming at her opponent.

Sweep of the Rider’s Bane

When you smell fries in the vicinity #TsubasaSweep #GetThemFries

A variation of Blade of the Rider’s Bane where Tsubasa swings her armed gear alongside her motorcycle’s blades charging at her foes.

Executioner’s Blade

Cross Genmu Zero

Executioner’s Blade is an attack that functions similarly to the Blue Flash, except that it fires in a cross-shaped pattern.

Soaring Pheonix Slash

“Leave Sabrac to me”

An attack that has Tsubasa ignite two blades aflame, Soaring Pheonix Slash has her fly straight at her enemy while having Ame no Habakiri’s flames extend much more than they normally do, slashing at the opponent.

Celestial Blade’s Judgement

Slicing and Dicing

An attack that Tsubasa uses in her X-Drive state, where she brings out a second blade and activates blades on her feet, then proceeds to cut down at everything in her path.

Chaos Shadow Weaving

A Chaos Emerald isn’t required for this

A stronger variant of Shadow Weaving used in her X-Drive form, that fires off a multitude of blades, paralyzing her foes (presumably with a bigger range)

Lion Flame Rotation

The Hair Blade

An attack that Tsubasa can use while she’s in her Burning X-Drive form, Tsubasa uses her Hair to slice off a multitude of foes.

Swan Song

Boom, in more ways than one.

One of Tsubasa’s most powerful, and most dangerous, abilities, the Swan Song allows her to use a powerful attack, though afterwards she is left seriously injured, and can potentially die from the recoil of it. What a Swan Song does varies by gear, but Tsubasa’s one has her approach her enemy, then once she’s close enough, unleash a powerful explosion.

Shana

Flame Haze Physiology

Acquiring a new Identity

As a Flame Haze, Shana has an enhanced physiology that gives her more than just being human, such as being biologically immortal (due to being detached from the world and flow of time. Not kidding, that’s the reason why they’re immortal) and enhanced senses, alongside giving her a bit of a healing factor as well. How a Flame Haze is born exactly is that the size of their vessel is determined by the potential impact they’d have on the world had they not become a Flame Haze, and Shana’s potential impact on the world would have been huge to say the least, explaining why she was able to survive Alastor’s manifestation in the movie/manga/novels.

Also, she can assume the existence of Torches about to go out and take their place in the world. This also has the effect of keeping the torch from going out, as shown by Shana having Yukari Hirai’s torch for around a year.

Fire Manipulation

Shana used Blast Burn! It’s Super-Effective!

As a Flame Haze, Shana can create flames that she can fire at her enemies, with her flames being a crimson color. She mostly fires off her flames from the Nietono no Shana (the specific Unrestricted Spell used for igniting her blade will be elaborated on later).

Seal Casting

An example of how Seals work. Shana isn’t affected by the effective time stop, but normal people are.

An ability universal to everyone linked to the Crimson Realm, the ability to cast a Seal allows Shana to cover the surrounding area in a “Seal”, which materializes the Crimson World and makes it appear that time has stopped, with the exception of those who have protection against the seal, such as fellow Flame Hazes, Crimson Denizens, and normal humans who have a Treasure Tool that allows them protection. It also makes those unaware of the Crimson World outside of the seal perceive that area as not existing.

It should be noted, however, that Shana only uses this technique to fight against Crimson Denizens in populated areas, alongside the seals only affecting the area the seal is cast (The area outside the Seal will have time flow normally.)

Purifying Flame

An Unrestricted Spell that is universal to every Flame Haze, Purifying Flame is cast by a Flame Haze’s contracted lord that cleanses them of anything that made them dirty (or purge alcohol from them, as seen with the most common user of it in the series).

Unnamed Jumping Ability

It’s like Superman’s jumping ability, It’s never brought up again when she starts flying.

This an ability that allowed Shana to jump up to a high place, with her landing a good distance away. She stopped using this after she unlocked her Wings of Crimson Unrestricted Spell.

Wings of Crimson

Since getting the Feather Badge, Shana can go to any Pokémon Center she went to

Wings of Crimson is an Unrestricted Spell that Shana unlocks early in the first season, which true to its name, is a set of fiery wings that allow her flight. This replaces her jumping ability that was shown in the first few episodes.

Blade of Crimson

Fire Aspect V

The Blade of Crimson is an unrestricted spell that allows Shana to imbue the Nietono no Shana with her flames, which allows her to extend her sword at longer lengths than it already is, fire off flames at her enemies, and more.

Emblaze

Surprisingly, the crescent-like wave is not the only way the attack is fired.

An unrestricted spell that Shana learned while escaping from the Palace of the Stars, Blazing Flame has her fire off a stream of flames that can take a variety of shapes, such as a crescent or a pillar of flame.

Judgement

Eyes on the prize, ‘cause we locking in with the Flame Plate.

Judgement is an Unrestricted Spell that Shana learns to use while escaping from the Palace of the Stars. With this, Shana creates a giant flaming eye that gives her the ability to see things from far away, which can give her time to dodge any potential attacks that are thrown at her. She can also find out where main users of duplication abilities are with it as well.

Gigantic Arm of Crimson

AND HERE COMES A GIANT FIST!

Gigantic Arm of Crimson is an Unrestricted Spell that Shana learned to use in Season 3. Using her powers to materialize her flames physically, this technique is developed, which has her materialize her flames as a… well, big arm that can allow her to reach up to 22 Yards.

Condemnation

The last of Shana’s Unrestricted Spells learned during her breakout. Condemnation is much hotter than Shana’s other Unrestricted Spells and is capable of melting down anything that can stand in Shana’s way.

True Crimson

Holding a Determination to Fist.

True Crimson is an Unrestricted Spell that Shana learns to use in Season 3 while escaping the Palace of the Stars. This is a combination of her Wings of Crimson and Gigantic Arm of Crimson Spells, which allows her to create an even more giant flaming hand that she can swipe at her foes to take out any attack.

Tenpajyosei

“The air is getting warmer around you.”

Quite possibly Shana’s strongest ability, the Tenpajyosei is a Divine Summoning spell that has Shana summoning Alastor’s entire body into the world. This usually has the side-effect of rendering the Blazing-Eyed Hunter no more once they use it, as was the case with Matilde, but it has been shown that Shana’s capable of bringing Alastor forth without that risk. To use this, Shana uses an incantation whereas the pendant containing Alastor glows, whereas a seal called the Crimson Curtain is created as part of it, with the resulting emergence of the Flame of Heaven’s true form allowing him to destroy absolutely everything.

Usually, this technique also requires a sacrifice in order to function properly, though Shana has managed to survive this without using one.

The Flame of Retribution

When I say this is a godnuke I mean it.

The only known attack that Alastor himself has used. True to its name, it’s an all-surrounding flame that can easily obliterate the enemy. Due to how he has spent most of the series in his pendant form, he only uses this attack to take down Friagne in the Light Novels, Manga, and Movie.

Forms

Tsubasa

Base Form

Ame-no-Habakiri circa late 2045

Tsubasa’s base form when transformed with Ame-no-Habakiri. As said before, it allows her to be protected from the Noise alongside generating Auchwafen Waves to reveal the Noise’s true form so she can take them down.

Amalgam

Carving her own path, while her grandfather follows his wrath.

During a fight against Noble Red, the Symphogear users gained a new power in order to defeat them. This is Amalgam, a final season replacement to their Ignited form, a combination of the normal Symphogears and Faust Robes (basically, the Shadow to normal gear’s Sonic), which also gives Tsubasa two forms oriented over Defense and Offense respectively.

X-Drive

Tsubasa chuckled, “You mean the Chaos Emeralds?”

X-Drive is Tsubasa’s Super form. This increases her power by a good deal, alongside giving her Telepathy to speak to her allies while she is singing.

Burning X-Drive

Can you hear the sprits sing lost melodies of long ago? (Long Ago…)

Burning X-Drive is, simply put, an even stronger version of the normal X-Drive, achieved when the Symphogear users returned to Earth to take on Shem-Ha and stop her plans. This was achieved by them going X-Drive while they were in their Amalgam states, after they were freed from the Curse of Babel. This increases Tsubasa’s power to the point where she can harm beings protected by their Higher Dimensional nature, alongside being able to summon much more of her giant swords than she usually can.

Shana

Transformed State

The biggest post-series mystery is what is the armor is for.

Shana’s form while she is transformed, where she can use the full state of her powers.

Weaknesses

Tsubasa

No ridiculous joke here, She nearly died from this.

In spite of all that she is capable of, Tsubasa has SOME weaknesses. Most notably was during the events of the first season, where she used her Swan Song, which, as said before, has a good chance to actually kill her, if not cripple her a good deal.

She also, though shared with all other Symphogear users, can have her powers weakened if exposed to Anti-LiNKER, though in a fight like this, it’s unlikely that she would be affected by it at all.

Shana

mfw no melon bread

Due to how her training as a Flame Haze ended abruptly, Shana isn’t capable of using some of her powers to their full potential, chief among them being the Gigantic Arm of Crimson, which is only a fraction of what the Unrestricted Spell is capable of (Shana’s predecessor, Matilde Saint-Omer, was capable of creating weaponry & armies using said Unrestricted Spell and called it “Knights”).

Also, while she herself has an existence that is more than capable of containing Alastor’s own, the Tenpajyosei still contains a risk of actually killing her if she’s not careful.

Power & Durability

Tsubasa

  • Should be comparable to Chris, who was able to survive a blast from Kadinger that was meant to destroy the moon (While the beam knocks her out for a bit, she’s ultimately shown no worse for wear as she was able to fight on a few minutes later when the main three got into their X-Drive states)
  • Should be much stronger than that in her X-Drive, Amalgam, and Burning X-Drive states, with the first one form being achieved by gaining the Phonic Gain of the entire planet, and the last form being activated while she was in her Amalgam state.
  • Burning X-Drive is capable of taking on Shem-Ha, a higher dimensional entity, and ignore her higher-dimensional protection.
  • In AXZ’s first episode, she is shown to be capable of destroying an entire airship in a single blow.
  • By XV, she should be comparable to Maria in base, and is capable of taking out minions summoned by Shem-Ha in a single blow.

Shana

  • In order to defeat Sabrac, a large landmass was lifted off from the ground. Shana set fire to the entire landmass. Sabrac himself when appearing generated a flaming pillar that sent a shockwave throughout Misaki City
  • The Nietono no Shana is capable of cutting through the Unrestricted Spell Magnesia, which was capable of blocking an attack intended to destroy an interdimensional portal (The user of the attack that was intended to destroy the portal, Sophie Sallawich, was unsure whether or not the attack would have actually worked, however.) Magnesia is also said to be unpenetratable.
  • Alastor was able to stop Aziz, a Crimson Lord who used the power of the City Devouring, after being summoned with the Tenpajyosei, alongside being capable of stopping an in-process City Devouring caused by Friagne. The City Devouring is seen as a threat equal to the Great Calamity, which is said to be capable of destroying the world alongside the Crimson Realm, which is a parallel Universe.) His power should be comparable to the Snake of the Festival, who was capable of creating a parallel universe in the rift between worlds (The latter incident is shown to require a large amount of Power of Existence, however.)
  • Shana managed to cut off one of Sydonay’s arms in his final form (While Sydonay assumes said form in the final battle, it’s not caused by any leftover energy from Xanadu. He just never assumes this form until the final fight), who was capable of enduring a blast as strong as more than “Tens of Thousands” of Flame Hazes.

Speed

Tsubasa

  • Her aforementioned scaling to Chris’ feat in managing to survive the blast from Kadinger means she should be roughly comparable in terms of speed
  • Capable of dodging lasers fired off from Shenshou Jing, which despite being mirror beams behave similarly to light
  • Before the final battle of the fifth season, every Symphogear user traveled from the Moon to the Earth in a matter of minutes
  • Should be much faster while in her Burning X-Drive state, as it’s more powerful than the state she was in during said “Go from Moon to Earth” moment that happened right before.

Shana

  • During the Pheles arc, Shana is shown to be capable of dodging Hecate’s Unrestricted Spell Aster (The Light Novels describe Aster’s beams as Light, and the blast Shana dodged as being nearly point blank, and the explosions from it are described at being similar to releases of Condensed Light) she was also to dodge several of Aster’s beams in quick succession in the anime. (It’s shown that some of Aster’s beams are able to split into multiple, yet smaller beams)
  • Later on in the same episode, Shana was able to go above the clouds in 17 seconds (Should note that Shana was already in mid-air when she did this, and there’s no mention of how high Pheles’ windstorm went in the LNs)
  • Should be much faster by the end of the series, due to her not having reached her full power at the time
  • It’s unknown how fast Alastor is exactly, as his manifestations in both the Anime and Movie/Manga/Novels have him stationary.

Feats

Tsubasa

  • Defeated Phara
  • Destroyed an airship in a single strike
  • On Equal levels with Chris & Maria
  • Traveled from the Moon to the Earth in a manner of minutes
  • Helped Defeat Fine, Nephilim, Carol, Prelati, Elsa, and Shem-Ha.

Shana

  • Survived Manifesting Alastor into the world
  • Able to pierce the cloud barrier in a manner of seconds
  • Set fire to an entire Landmass to take down a Crimson Lord
  • Helped Destroy the Statue of Pride
  • Capable of easily cutting through the Unrestricted Spell Magnesia
  • Defeated Friagne, Margery, Sabrac, Yuji

Comparison

Tsubasa’s Advantages

  • Generally stronger and more durable than Shana
  • More experienced
  • Can paralyze Shana using Shadow Weaving
  • Can potentially win this out if she can manage to prevent the Tenpajyosei
  • There’s probably stuff in XDU that helps her out

Shana’s Advantages

  • Seals allow her to avoid Tsubasa’s stronger attacks, alongside being able to close up any speed gaps
  • Can potentially ignore any of Tsubasa’s defenses with the Nietono no Shana
  • Judgement can allow Shana to see attacks coming from a mile away
  • Alastor himself is above anything that Tsubasa can do
  • There’s probably stuff in the post-series short stories that helps her out

Tsubasa’s disadvantages

  • No defenses against being frozen by a Seal
  • Cannot do anything against Alastor
  • Swan Song can leave her highly vulnerable if used
  • Attacking Alastor directly would summon him to the world.

Shana’s disadvantages

  • Weaker and more Fragile than Tsubasa outside of Manifesting Alastor
  • Less experienced than Tsubasa
  • Tenpajyosei can potentially erase her from existence
  • No defense from being paralyzed by Shadow Weaving

Before the Verdict

There are three things that I feel probably should be brought up before I say who I believe wins this fight out, mainly due to how they’re not exactly applicable to the fight.

Tsubasa breaking out of a pocket dimension

You still are in town, Hibiki. You’re just trapped in Null Space.

In AXZ, some Alca-Noise under the command of the Illuminati manage to trap the main three in a pocket dimension with some planets and stars, with them having to fight out of it. Now, this would be a bit huge… but it’s more like the Phantom Ruby from Sonic’s virtual realities instead of a full-on pocket dimension.

Dantalion making a Black Hole (and Khamsin tanking it)

To ensure his leader can end racism, he made some black holes.

No idea why it crossed his mind to do that. Maybe Dantalion just really wanted to make a black hole.

In the 21st Episode of Season 3, member of Bal Masque Dantalion creates giant robots capable of generating Black Holes, and in the proceeding episodes, the Flame Haze Khamsin tanks one of them. This would be a possibly game changing durability feat… had it not been for the fact that Khamsin died a few minutes later as a result of it. For this to be applicable it would have required Khamsin to both tank the black hole and survive long enough to go to Xanadu, which did not happen.

It IS applicable for a Dantalion MU if he ever gets one, however. Just gotta figure out where said Black Holes actually get Dantalion. Like he outright said they’re 30 Meters in Radius. Just gotta work down from that point.

Grammatica’s Teleportation

“Before this is over, I will show you the true power of Chaos Control!”

One of Grammatica’s (Yuji’s own Unrestricted Spell) functions is to give him the ability to teleport instantly. He only reveals this ability in the final episode, and he doesn’t use it in his last fight against Shana. So, I don’t believe anyone should really scale to this (outside of Yuji himself)

Results

Tsubasa’s ability to go Beyond the Blade was impressive, but Shana was much more Vitalized than Tsubasa and made a Testament to both worlds and Exterminated the Attuned.

“It’s not whether I can; It’s that I will do it. That’s what makes it a vow.”

The Winner is Shana.

Next Time

Since it’s the end of the year, before I reveal what will be my first blog for 2025, I would like to lay out some blog plans I have for next year.

First off, I’m gonna be holding a ballot of sorts, with the winner also going to have a script done for the winning MU. Here’s the poll:

Next up, I’m gonna be doing a follow-up blog for Meta Knight vs Kamen Rider Valvarad, sometime after Graduations gets subbed (it will cover any potential new statements for Kirby comes up in the meantime + any potential buffs that Valvarad GT gives Spanner)

Next up, I’m gonna do a small teaser image of some blogs I’m gonna do for next year, featuring characters that will be in the MUs I will do, but I’m not gonna say them outright now.

Now that’s all for the 2025 plans. So for next time…

It’s time for a face-off between two who were tasked to fill the cards back up, Cardcaptor Sakura vs Kamen Rider Gotchard!
