Xenos, Xenos Scaling, and how a defunct Gacha is quite possibly the strongest Nintendo universe.

Introduction

So uh, I’ll put this out first. This is like my first time doing one of these blogs. So maybe I’ll go back to this someday if I get better researched information. So you’re probably wondering what I’m talking about in the title. So there was this game called Dragalia Lost, was a co-production between Nintendo and Cygames (the devs of Granblue Fantasy if anyone reading it plays it). Got EoS’d in November of 2022, though they told us ahead of time in March. It’s really better than how the English Servers of Priconne handled their EoS but that's unrelated to the topic.

Back on topic, let’s get into the topic on hand, so the main villain of the story, the creator of the game’s universe, Xenos the Progenitor (sounds like a Sonic character name, but I assure you, I was just combining his name with his title.) is quite possibly the strongest Nintendo villain. And here's the explanation on it.

The Progenitor himself and the Crisis on Infinite Alberias

Now that the introduction’s out of the way, let’s get into why he’s potentially the strongest. So making a world without possibility seems simple right? Just do it on his own, no effect on the other worlds? That’s the thing, to create his world he has to destroy every other world in existence (note: Worlds from what I see in Gachas usually means Universes. I THINK that’s why Fate stay/night is so high up in the power hierarchy). So he creates a stronghold that births his new world, consuming more and more worlds for resources as it grows stronger. We actually SEE the stronghold destroying worlds for resources, in Chapter 25 when Euden’s in the void between worlds. Now did the cast succeed in stopping the stronghold? A good question because the answer is…

No.

Yeah, the gang actually FAIL to stop Xenos from destroying the Multiverse. The final chapter is literally about them in the Void between worlds (or by that point, just the void) to go and defeat Xenos and restore the multiverse. Euden winds up having to Madoka himself to restore the multiverse, while in the process of being Nia’d because he cannot exist as he is after severing Xenos’ link to the world.

“Thank you, Simon. Now…”

“i will… END SUFFERING!”

The Size of the Multiverse

So basically, here’s how the scale of Xenos’ attack goes: It goes from Multi Universal to Million times Universal to Infinite Multiversal or Complex Multiversal (yeah I don’t really understand the difference between the two)

I should probably point out (from my experience) that usually whenever a Gacha game refers to a world they don't mean the planet, they straight-up mean a parallel universe, so that's how the Universal base is a thing.

Millions upon Millions of Worlds, and Silent Voice is still the superior ZZ Gundam OP

Multi-Universal comes from the amount of universes that his stronghold has been shown to have destroyed, Million times Universal/Multiversal comes from Elysium’s statement on how many worlds he saw came into ruin, and Infinite/Complex Multiversal comes from the Monster Hunter collab’s claim that the Multiverse is Infinite.

…though actually looking into it more, it’s more that Multi-Universal might not even be enough to describe it. Because getting back into a Private Server to look into how many worlds were shown…

OUR WORLDS ARE IN DANGER! TO SAVE THEM AND THE GALAXY WE MUST FIND THE FOUR CYBER PLANET KEYS, BEFORE THE DECEPTIONS CAN USE THEM FOR EVIL!

There’s a hell of a lot more worlds than I previously thought there was. And what do I mean by worlds if there’s only a lot of dots (and Euden) with that Black Hole?

It’s like how in Gurren Lagann Universes were portrayed as galaxies, except with tiny white dots instead of a Galaxy.

Okay, but what about collabs if we do include them?

Of course, speaking of collabs, he might be even above SMT since the last collab was the Persona 5 collab. So there’s that to add in, alongside him being potentially above whatever the hell goes on in Granblue assuming the Pecorine collab does place the game in the Cygames Multiverse as well (if the recurring Rage of Bahamut characters didn’t already place it into it, and Bahamut’s really a separate dude from the other ones). Maybe even above Mega Man Battle Network assuming the Mega Man collab places that series’ Multiverse into the game’s Multiverse.

(oh, and the FE Multiverse based on the FEH collabs. No idea what this exactly entails for the Smash Multiverse beyond Byleth’s reveal trailer being referenced in her Brave alt’s Forging Bonds.)

How the scaling exactly works

Okay, now I will point something out first. 5 chosen ones were needed to defeat him and he wasn’t even defeated the first time. HOWEVER, the Auspexes only used their powers to disable an extremely specific ability that caused him to be undefeatable. This causes the boss fight, where he unveils two stronger forms that happens when his health bars were depleted. So almost everyone should scale to him since you can choose anyone to fight him. Now onto the second part, so after the boss fight against him he still “lingers” in what remains of the world and Euden goes on to sever his link to the world. SINCE the actual final boss fight doesn’t have him go into his stronger forms at all (and the fight is just essientially the complete collection version of the Leviathan BB fight in FNAFb 3 in terms of how it goes), alongside you being forced to be Bondforged Euden the entire level

The Fuck You Hax

Yeah… let’s just get into this before we get the story reasons for certain characters to not have the scaling. So like I said before, Xenos has this Hax where he can make anything that would kill him not count at all.

Here it is in action, sorry it's blurry as fuck:

Now here’s a basic description of the hax (let’s call it Causalty Lock), courtesy of Phares, the guy who did his research and got possessed by Xenos for most of the game:

And here’s an explanation on how Xenos was defeated the first time around in the lore

I should also note that due to story reasons they very obviously cannot have Elysium on their side (he was turned into a Zombie). They did counter it twice in the story, but one is incredibly vague in how it exactly works. ARGUABLY anyone with actual shown Universe-destroying Feats can counter the hax.

Characters who due to Story Reasons are not eligible to have Xenos scaling

Now, I should add really quick that not EVERY playable character in the game can really have this illustrious scaling, due to story reasons. I’ll just list them off real quick.

Collab Characters (Mega Man, Joker, Marth)

So first things first is the collab characters. Nothing really too notable, they just went back to their home worlds (or Askr for the non-FEH OC Fire Emblem Characters). Really only there for the purpose of the crossover scaling for the characters playable. MAYBE they came back off-screen to help out against Xenos but I doubt it.

Pecorine is weird because apparently, she can just go back to New Alberia whenever she pleases. So, she’s probably exempt from this.

Characters who have only lived in the game’s lore events (Meene & Myriam)

Yeah, these two are not eligible due to them pretty much only being added during events that took place hundreds of years before the story really starts. Technically Ilia and Mordecai also count, but space-time bullshit that was included with ensuring Morsayati was defeated in the first War of Binding led them to be transported to the present.

Note: Midgardsormr got alts in both lore events, but he’s able to go back into those forms (Mids 0 being identical to Primal Mids likely means Mids 0 had the Primal Powers that Mids lost before the events of the game)

Alberius & Audric, the weird cases

Ok, so Alberius is technically part of the playable lore characters as well, but dude actually shows up in the present of the story… as a fusion with Chtonius that has lasted for 300 years ever since the end of the second War of Binding. The boss fight at the end of the chapter you encounter them is just giving Alberius a mercy kill because Morsayati (who came back a third time) got back to full power.

As for Audric, so basically everyone in the verse has this thing called a “Chain of Causality” that basically tethers them to the timeline they are apart of (Zena for most of the story is technically still in the timeline she resides. She’s just using a magical artifact to project herself to the main timeline). Basically in order to jump timelines Audric (an alternate version of Euden’s dad) severed his Chain of Causality (which also had the knock-on effect of people outside of Cassandra forgetting that he exists when he’s away from them for a while). Sometime during his travels, he made a connection to the main timeline, which alerted the timeline that somehow Aurelius returned, which gave him very limited time before he gets erased from existence. That happens in Chapter 22. That said I feel Audric can get collab scaling outside of the first round of FEH scaling.

Mordecai

Another weird case, because, by all accounts he should at the very least HAVE the scaling, but in a different way, considering he’s Xenos’ heart. And he dies like right before the final boss fight. So that’s why he’s a weird case.

Speaking of FEH…

Speaking of FEH, let’s just define how far the FEH scaling goes. It’s pretty simple using the presence of Peony in Kindred Ties, which would, due to the events of Book IV being mostly a dream, place the second FEH collab after Book IV. Lost Heroes is more of a weird case since it could be between Book II and Book III due to Fjorm’s presence in the original collab... her Ice Cancer isn't really brought up in game. I think the SOLE time it's brought up beyond her having it is the Tempest Trials where Laegjearn got revived, and even then she got cured of that, but I digress.

IN CONCLUSION

And that’s how a defunct gacha game might be one of the strongest Nintendo Universes. I will add that If there’s a Nintendo series that has a significantly larger universe than the game then if they reach Infinite Multiversal there’s a good chance they’d win out in it. Or someone from the game faces a DC Herald. Quick someone get onto Reverse-Flash vs Morsayati.
